Rebecca & Kevin’s Vibrant, Bold & Colorful Garden Wedding with Disco Balls at Ships of the Sea
Rebecca and Kevin’s wedding at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum in Savannah, Georgia, was filled with personality, beautiful florals, and unexpected details that made their celebration completely their own. From lush tropical greenery and vibrant red flowers to fruit-filled tablescapes, shimmering disco balls, and meaningful personal details, every part of the day felt thoughtfully chosen without fitting into just one particular theme.
For Ivory & Beau Flowers, it was such a fun wedding to design because there were so many different elements to bring together. The result was a celebration that felt organic, colorful, romantic, and a little unexpected—just like the couple themselves.
The Details
One of the things we loved most about Rebecca and Kevin's wedding was how many personal and unexpected details were incorporated throughout the day.
Their wedding details included disco balls alongside their rings and wedding programs, adding a little sparkle and playfulness to the photography. Rebecca's wedding shoes and reception shoes continued that touch of shimmer with bedazzled silver details that caught the light beautifully.
For photos a striking gold shark-tooth necklace was such a perfect personal touch.
These weren't details that needed to follow a particular theme. They simply reflected Rebecca and Kevin's personalities and the things they loved—and that's what made them so special.
A Lush Savannah Ceremony
The ceremony took place surrounded by the beautiful grounds of Ships of the Sea, with historic Savannah architecture providing the perfect backdrop.
To frame the ceremony and create a dramatic aisle moment, the Ivory & Beau floral team designed oversized arrangements filled with tropical leaves, pampas grass, hydrangeas, and vibrant red flowers. The arrangements were intentionally lush and organic, allowing the greenery and flowers to spill outward and create a natural feeling along the aisle.
The bold red blooms added beautiful pops of color against the greenery, while the pampas grass brought softness and movement to the design.
Rebecca's bouquet carried those same elements into her bridal look. Tropical foliage and cascading white orchids were paired with colorful blooms to create a bouquet that felt both elegant and completely unexpected.
The combination was a beautiful reflection of the overall wedding day—classic in some ways, but never afraid of something different.
Behind the Scenes with Our Ivory & Beau Floral Team
While guests see the finished arrangements and installations, there is an incredible amount of work happening behind the scenes to make every wedding come together.
Our Ivory & Beau floral designers are involved in every part of the process—from preparing flowers and conditioning stems to creating arrangements, loading them up, transporting everything to the venue, and installing each piece on-site.
We especially love seeing moments like Laney, one of our talented floral designers, setting up for Rebecca and Kevin's wedding. Photos like this give a little glimpse into the hands and hard work behind the beautiful wedding-day images.
Our floral team brings creativity, patience, and so much care to every wedding we design. Whether we're creating a bridal bouquet, installing massive floral pieces, styling reception tables, or decorating the final send-off, our team is passionate about making every detail feel intentional.
A Reception Full of Color and Texture
The reception tables continued the bold floral story with rich red flowers, lush greenery, apples, and grapes incorporated throughout the tablescape.
The fruit added an unexpected layer of texture and color, while gold candleholders brought warmth and an elegant glow to the tables. The combination felt romantic and abundant without being overly traditional.
The red floral arrangements also created a beautiful connection back to the ceremony and Rebecca's bouquet, carrying the color story throughout the entire wedding day.
A Statement Above the Dance Floor
One of the biggest design moments of the reception happened above the guests.
A dramatic ceiling installation featuring disco balls and airy baby’s breath hung above the dance floor, creating a major focal point as guests entered the reception.
Surrounding the central installation were disco ball chandeliers, bringing movement and sparkle into the space. As the lights reflected across the disco balls, the dance floor became an energetic focal point for the evening.
It was a perfect example of how one unexpected design element can completely transform a reception space.
Unexpected Details for Guests
Rebecca and Kevin also incorporated unique pieces into their reception that gave guests something to discover throughout the evening.
Gold fossil-inspired pieces, including an alligator skull, were displayed for guests to see. These unexpected additions brought another layer of personality to the reception and made the experience feel personal rather than simply styled.
From the flowers to the décor, there was always something interesting for guests to notice.
A Wedding That Was Completely Their Own
What made Rebecca and Kevin's wedding so memorable wasn't a specific theme—it was the way their personalities came through in the details.
Tropical greenery and red flowers, cascading orchids, fruit-filled tables, gold accents, sparkling disco balls, unique accessories, and unexpected pieces like the fossil displays all came together to create a wedding that felt personal and completely original.
And that's one of our favorite things about wedding design at Ivory & Beau.
Your wedding doesn't need a theme. It just needs to feel like you.
At Ivory & Beau, we love taking all of the little things that inspire our couples—their favorite colors, flowers, textures, sentimental details, fashion, interests, and unexpected ideas—and turning them into a cohesive wedding design.
Rebecca and Kevin's celebration at Ships of the Sea was a beautiful example of exactly that: a wedding filled with personality, beautiful flowers, and details that told their story.
