From Engaged to Married: Kiana & Art’Asian at Perry Lane Hotel
There’s something extra special about returning to a place that already holds a piece of your story. For Kiana Thomas and Art’Asian, Perry Lane Hotel became just that.
Before the wedding day arrived, Kiana and Art’Asian stepped in front of the camera at Perry Lane for their engagement photos. Against the hotel’s sophisticated Savannah backdrop, their session felt effortlessly cool and editorial—from nighttime portraits beside a vintage car to a chic black-and-neutral wardrobe that made the entire session feel straight out of a magazine.
Then, they came back to the same place for an even bigger chapter: their wedding day.
From Kiana’s Ivory & Beau gown to the white florals surrounding their ceremony, their Perry Lane wedding brought together classic bridal details, personal touches, and the unmistakable beauty of Savannah.
It Started at Perry Lane
Kiana and Art’Asian’s engagement session offered a completely different side of Perry Lane. Photographed after dark, the hotel and surrounding Savannah streets became the backdrop for a sophisticated, fashion-forward session.
Kiana’s black polka-dot look and Art’Asian’s camel coat created a timeless pairing, while their vintage car added just the right amount of old-school glamour. The result was romantic without feeling overly traditional—a glimpse into their style as a couple before the wedding day even arrived.
Looking back at these photos after seeing their wedding makes them even more meaningful. Perry Lane wasn't simply a beautiful location for their engagement session. It became part of the story they would return to for their “I do.”
Photo placement: This is where I’d use the four nighttime engagement images, especially ending the section with the close-up of Kiana’s ring beside the headlight. It makes a great visual transition into the wedding.
Back to Perry Lane for “I Do”
When the wedding day finally arrived, Perry Lane transformed from the backdrop of Kiana and Art’Asian’s engagement photos into the setting for their celebration.
One of the things that makes the venue so beautiful for a Savannah wedding is the variety it gives you without losing that sense of place. Their portraits move from the greenery and fountain of Savannah’s squares to the dramatic architecture of the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and back to Perry Lane’s contemporary interiors and rooftop views.
Seeing the couple dressed in white against those iconic Savannah surroundings also creates a beautiful contrast with the dark, editorial mood of their engagement session.
The Dress
And, of course, we have to talk about the dress.
Kiana chose her wedding gown from Ivory & Beau, and the romantic lace ball gown was made for this setting. The strapless silhouette features a structured, detailed bodice before opening into a full lace skirt and sweeping train.
Against Perry Lane’s warm woodwork and clean interiors, the gown gets its own moment to shine. Outside, the full skirt and train feel equally at home against Savannah’s historic architecture.
It’s romantic, timeless, and just dramatic enough—and seeing Kiana go from her fashion-forward engagement look to this bridal moment makes the progression between the two sessions even better.
All-White Wedding Florals
Ivory & Beau also had the honor of creating the florals for Kiana and Art’Asian’s wedding.
The floral design stayed primarily white and green, creating a clean, elegant palette that complemented both the couple’s attire and Perry Lane’s modern aesthetic. For the ceremony, clouds of baby’s breath and white roses framed Kiana and Art’Asian as they exchanged vows, creating height and texture without competing with the surrounding rooftop views.
That floral language continued into the reception, where white arrangements and greenery softened the black tables and added contrast throughout the room. Even the wedding cake carried the floral story forward with delicate white blooms cascading between its tiers.
It’s a great example of how a restrained color palette can still create plenty of visual impact when texture, scale, and placement do the work.
A Celebration That Felt Like Them
As beautiful as the details were, some of our favorite photographs are the ones where the personality of the day takes over.
Their reception moved from elegant dinner details into a celebration full of movement, culture, fashion, and joy. Traditional attire and performances brought another layer of meaning to the evening before Kiana changed into a sparkling reception look and joined Art’Asian on the dance floor.
Those moments are what turn a beautifully designed wedding into their wedding.
From One Chapter to the Next
There’s a full-circle feeling to Kiana and Art’Asian’s story that we love.
They first came to Perry Lane to celebrate being engaged, never knowing just how many memories they would eventually make there. When they returned for their wedding, the familiar setting became the backdrop for something entirely new—the dress, the flowers, the vows, the dancing, and finally, being able to call each other husband and wife.
From engagement photos to wedding portraits, Perry Lane got to witness both chapters.
And we were so happy that Ivory & Beau could be a small part of the journey, helping Kiana find the gown she would say “I do” in and creating the flowers that surrounded them as they did.
From engaged to married—same place, whole new chapter.
