Our TOP REASONS to Have an OFF SEASON Savannah Wedding!!

Here at Ivory & Beau, we’ve always LOVED having the opportunity to work with couples who like to do things a little differently. If you’re the sort to wander off the beaten path, we’ve been wondering… have you ever considered planning an OFF SEASON wedding?

We know, we know– that sounds a little scary. We mean, there must be a reason everyone hosts their wedding when they do, right? Sure, it’s nice to have predictably warm, pleasant weather on your side, and yes, it’s definitely fun to follow tradition… but as seasoned Savannah wedding planners, we’re here to tell you, there’s NOTHING wrong with an off season wedding.

According to the Knot, the least popular month for weddings in 2022 was February, and we find that there’s usually a lull between late November and early March. Here in Savannah, where we have the unique advantage of year round warm weather, we have a little more wiggle room– but we find that we sometimes slow down in the height of summer because it’s just too darn hot for an outdoor wedding.

If you’re on the fence about whether an off season wedding is right for you, we’ve gathered intel from our in-house floral and planning EXPERTS to help you make your decision!

VENDOR AVAILABILITY

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been following your favorite Savannah wedding vendors for YEARS. There’s nothing more disappointing than picking the perfect wedding date and finding that an amazing photographer or the kickass reception venue is already fully booked on your big day. The perk of planning an off season wedding is that you’re more likely to find that your dream wedding vendors are wide open and waiting with open arms!

SAVE THOSE $$$$

Another perk of booking your wedding in the off season? It’s more likely to be budget friendly! If you want some wiggle room to ensure that you’re able to get every little detail just right, off season weddings have a tendency to cost a little less.

CLEAR CALENDARS

Is it super, duper, duper important to you that all of your guests make it to your big day? The advantage of having an off season wedding is that your friends and family may have more weekend availability– or more vacation time to spare.

DISCOUNTED HONEYMOON

Okay, we’ll admit, this is hit or miss… but if you’ve got a shot at saving money on your honeymoon, why wouldn’t you take it? Cruises, theme parks, and resorts periodically offer discounts to fill empty spaces. Keep your eye peeled (and set up alerts) for travel deals– you may be able to leave STRAIGHT from your wedding and still save those coins!

UNIQUE WEDDING VIBES

If you’ve always been a dark and stormy soul, maybe a winter wedding suits your vibes better! Never underestimate how GORGEOUS winter weddings can turn out. We know– it’s a little chillier than you were hoping for– but throw in some heat lamps, fuzzy socks (the perfect party favor for your guests), and a hot cocoa bar, and your wedding is sure to be a HUGE hit!
