3 Reasons You Should Book an Off Season Wedding

One of the things our wedding planning clients struggle with the most is setting the date for their big day and tbh, we totally get it. There are just so many factors that go into picking the perfect wedding day! From venue and vendor availability to accommodating busy bridal party and guest schedules, there are so many details to consider that it even makes *us* feel a little dizzy.

Here at Ivory & Beau, we’ve always been a little non-traditional, and we pride ourselves on our ability to provide our equally non-traditional clients with the wedding of their dreams. We’re not afraid to wander off the beaten path… which is why we’re coming to you today in defense of the off season wedding. We KNOW– we know. There’s a reason some months are less popular than others (inclement weather, school’s in session, holiday interference, etc.), but hear us out!

You may be wondering what professionals consider an “off season” wedding, and while the weather is usually pleasant enough for an event in Savannah year round, we generally notice that we see an overall decline in weddings booked in the months of December, January, February, and March. The mild winters in the lowcountry make Savannah a perfect choice for a destination wedding in the off season, but if you’re not convinced yet, check out the top three reasons our expert planners think YOU should plan an off season wedding:

Your Favorite Vendors Are More Likely to be Available

It’s simple wedding math! If there are more weddings in the spring, summer, and fall months, it stands to reason that your top choice in vendor may already be booked.

This can be a big hurdle for couples who are working with a shorter timeline to plan their big day; time is a huge luxury in the wedding world. The good news is that vendors typically have more availability in the winter months– and hey, some may even be willing to kick you a discount for working with them in the slow season.

Off Season Weddings Can Be Very Budget Friendly

Speaking of discounts… did you know that an off season wedding can prove to be kinder to your wallet in the long run? Travel costs are often reduced in the off season, making it more affordable for your guests to attend your special day. Many resorts and premium destinations also offer discounts in the slow season, too, making the off season your best shot to save BIG on your honeymoon plans!

It’s the Perfect Opportunity to Experiment With Unique Decor

If you’re looking for a little something different, the off season is your chance to commit to standing out and play around with your wedding design. Imagine a colorful winter wedding in place of the usual jewel toned palette or a moody early spring shindig. Embrace your wild side– we’ll be right there to make sure all of your wedding dreams come true no matter what they may be!
