Karly & Sam’s Timeless Southern Wedding at The Ford Field & River Club

We absolutely loved being part of Karly and Sam’s wedding at The Ford Field & River Club! Located just outside Savannah in Richmond Hill, Georgia, this stunning Lowcountry wedding venue has everything we love about a classic Southern celebration—sweeping lawns, majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss, gorgeous waterfront views, historic architecture, and so many beautiful outdoor spaces for a ceremony and reception. The Ford Field & River Club created the dreamiest backdrop for Karly and Sam’s timeless wedding day. We also loved working alongside Sutlan + Co. and Adriel Nutter to bring their floral proposal and overall wedding vision to life. Every detail felt intentional, elegant, and perfectly suited to the natural beauty of this incredible Georgia wedding venue.

For the flowers, we kept the design refined and textural with a mostly white palette and minimal greenery. The reception florals featured orchids, dendrobium orchids, cascading amaranthus, and delicate white blooms, creating arrangements that felt organic while still maintaining the clean, classic aesthetic of the day. Even the tiniest floral details were special. The flower girl carried the sweetest petite bouquet of scabiosa, Queen Anne’s lace, and greenery. For the outdoor ceremony, larger statement floral arrangements were designed atop columns to frame Karly and Sam as they exchanged vows. We especially love creating floral designs that can have a second life throughout a wedding day, so these ceremony focal pieces were later repurposed at the reception.

Karly and Sam wanted their reception to have a classic Southern wedding feel while keeping the design beautifully elegant. Instead of adding lots of florals to the tables, the reception relied almost entirely on candlelight, allowing the setting itself to shine. One of our favorite details was the unique reception layout: long tables arranged in a straight line overlooking the expansive lawn and waterfront. As daylight faded, the combination of glowing candles and strands of twinkling lights overhead completely transformed the space. It was romantic, dreamy, and effortlessly elegant—the kind of wedding design that feels just as beautiful decades from now as it does today.

And can we please talk about dogs at weddings?! We will forever be in favor. Karly and Sam’s pup was such an adorable part of their celebration, from portraits with the bride to lounging front and center during the ceremony. There is something so sweet about incorporating your pets into your wedding day…especially when they’re truly part of the family. The photos are always priceless, and this very good wedding guest understood the assignment.

And what better way to end a Lowcountry wedding than with a golf cart getaway? After a day filled with beautiful flowers, candlelight, waterfront views, dogs, and plenty of Southern charm, Karly and Sam hopped aboard a golf cart for the perfect send-off. It was playful, relaxed, and such a fun ending to an otherwise timeless and elegant celebration. Karly and Sam’s Ford Field & River Club wedding was the perfect reminder that sometimes the most memorable wedding days are the ones that embrace a beautiful setting, thoughtful details, and a whole lot of personality.
