Fall/Winter 2017 Wedding Trends

Do you feel that chill in the air? It looks like winter’s finally come to the south, y’all, and we couldn’t be more excited! While you’re getting cozy in your sweaters and sippin’ on your hot cocoa, we’re taking advantage of the season to celebrate up-and-coming trends. This week, we’ve invited our friends The Black Tux to spill the tea on the hottest wedding fashions for Fall/Winter 2017!

(PS, did you know that Ivory & Beau recently partnered with Jim’s Formal Wear to offer tuxedo rentals as well?)

Whimsical Wedding

Bountiful blooms, twinkling lights, and little gold dinosaurs… whimsical weddings will always have a special place in our hearts.

Soho South is the perfect venue for a wedding full of whimsy. From the draping lights to the mismatched chairs, this colorful cafe makes for the most magnificent photos. We love the idea of a tea garden wedding at Savannah’s Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum--you could totally dress it up with the help of our friends at Lillian’s China.

Don’t be afraid to be bold with your wedding attire. We love blush colored gowns and textured, colorful suits and tuxedos--deep blue or magenta, anyone?

Elegant Wedding

Timeless and classic, elegant weddings take the meaning of breathtaking to the next level.

There’s nothing we love more than designing the florals for a fairytale wedding. Could you imagine the Kimpton-Brice all decked out with white blooms and lush greenery? How about a candlelit ceremony in the Westin’s ballroom?

Dress up your elegant wedding: make it a black (bowtie) affair or opt for a white dinner jacket. Brides are sure to stun in a lace ballgown or a classic white satin sheath dress and a flowing white veil.

Rustic Wedding

Would it be an Ivory & Beau post if there wasn’t at least a touch of boho-chic?

There’s plenty of opportunity to host your very own rustic wedding right here in Savannah. Some of our favorite venues include Bethesda Academy and Wormsloe State Historic Site--there’s just something so magical about spanish moss swaying in those old live oak trees.

Rustic weddings are generally super casual. We love the Black Tux’ attire recommendations--please send us pictures if you can convince your groom to rock a green velvet suit.

You guys, is it hot in here, or are we just a lil too excited about all of these trends? If you're just as eager to hop on the bandwagon as we are, click here to learn more about our wedding planning/floral services.
