What to Expect Wedding Series: Finding the Perfect Bridesmaids Gowns!

Eep! There are few things more exciting about a wedding than having the chance to celebrate with all of your besties. Getting all dolled up and sipping on mimosas all morning with your girls is a thrill all of its own, but trust us when we say that the bridesmaids shopping appointment can be JUST as fun if you come prepared! If you’re looking for a handy-dandy guide on what to expect, look no further. Our What to Expect Wedding Series has you and your bride tribe covered.
Step 1: Setting up your bridesmaids appointment.

Time to gather the girl gang! Once you have a suitable date in mind, feel free to give us a ring at (912) 200-4794 or schedule your appointment online. Here, you’ll fill out a questionnaire to give us a better idea of the style, fit, and color you had in mind for your bridesmaids gowns. This way we can have some options pulled before you’ve even arrived. Poll your friends to see if they’d rather have champagne, sweet tea, lemonade, or water and we’ll start pouring as soon as you’re all settled in.

Psssst: got a friend who can’t make it into town? No worries! We are more than happy to order her gown and have it shipped directly to her. All we’ll need is her measurements. We recommend that bridesmaids head to a local seamstress or bridal boutique to get the most accurate measurements possible.
Step 2: Preparing for your bridesmaids appointment.

Since we order your bridesmaids dresses rather than selling them off the floor, no need to worry about bringing along shoes! We always welcome our brides and their bridesmaids to bring along any shapewear they’d like to wear on the wedding day. If you have a color swatch you’d like to match the dresses to, be sure to keep it handy throughout the appointment. We’ll bust out our swatch books so you can make sure things are picture perfect.
Step 3: Time to try on!
Once you’ve got your drinks in hand, our expert bridal stylist will walk you and your bride tribe through our showroom to give you a better idea of how things are organized. If you’ve picked out any specific styles before the appointment, we’ll have them pulled and ready for you in the fitting room. After we give you a moment to browse our selection, we’ll make some recommendations of our own before heading over to try the gowns on. Feel free to show us pictures for inspiration, too!

Step 4: Find the perfect bridesmaids dress? We’re ready to order!
We’ve got this step down to a science, y’all. Once your girls have all said “yes” to the dress, we’ll get started taking measurements so we can recommend the appropriate size. Here’s where we’ll nail down final color and fabric options. If your gals are ordering more than one style, don’t worry! We’ve got it all covered. We’ll have you fill out our bridesmaids form so we can check, double check, and triple check for accuracy before we place the order.

If you need some time to sleep on it, no sweat. We’ll keep your favorites logged in our system so your girls can try them on any time they’d like. We recommend ordering bridesmaids five to six months before the wedding, which allows for plenty of time for the dresses to arrive in addition to any alterations that may be needed. Dresses do tend to come in faster if they’re all ordered from the same designer, but don’t let that discourage you from doing a little bridal party mix and match.
