If you are choosing to allow kids at your wedding, then you have to make sure you have an EPIC kids table to keep them entertained and having fun along with the rest of your guests. Give the parents some piece of mind knowing their kids are occupied and safe, so that they can enjoy themselves as well. You don’t need to spend a ton of money, no need for elaborate flower centerpieces, just a few toys and some crayons will do. There are so many easy and inexpensive DIYs you can do to make an awesome kids area, that will look so cute in photos, as well as make the kids feel apart of the party too.

1. Build a Fort

One thing we all know…..KIDS LOVE FORTS. Having things like teepees or drapery with cushions and pillows to give the kids a place to play while the party is going on. The kids will be having fun along with the rest of the guests. This also allows the parents to have a break from watching their kids and can enjoy the party!

It is super easy & inexpensive to DIY a teepee, or you can buy one pre-made, completely up to you and your budget!!! The alternative is to just take some sheets or drapery with pillows from home to set up a fort, easy & completely free!

2. Place Mats

We are so obsessed with the personalized place mats Adrienne & James had on their kids table, with their names, the wedding date, and a cute Savannah, Ga graphic pictured below. With games like tic-tac-toe, a maze, and coloring, this is such a good idea to keep the kids busy until it’s time to eat, and it will keep the table from getting extra messy.

You can make your own place mat on Photoshop or Canva, completely making it your own for super cheap. However, if you aren’t super creative or artsy, you can design it on a website like Zazzle and order a bundle.

3. Table Decor

Kids will grab & play with whatever is placed in front of them, so there is no need to spend a bunch of money on an expensive centerpiece with flowers and greenery. Toys, candy, and crayons - the only things you will need. Little plastic toys that fit your wedding aesthetic are perfect. Adrienne & James chose plastic green & orange alligators for their kids table - it looks cute and the kids have a fun toy! Our #girlboss Nicole even decorated her tables with plastic dinosaurs, there are so many options & they’re super cheap. Using a candy bracelet for napkin rings, using handheld games as name cards etc. The options are endless. If you didn’t know already, paper tablecloths are also the way to go - the kids can draw on them, it’s inexpensive & easy to clean up.

4. Party Favors

You can’t forget about the kids, they need party favors too!! There are an endless amount of DIYs you can do for kids favors - bubbles, coloring books, candy jars, etc. the list could go on. Do you know how easy it is to make bubbles?? A little water, a little soap, probably one more other thing, and BAM you have bubbles. Go on the internet and print off a bunch of outlines of animals, whatever you want, and cut them into individual pages, staple them together, and you have your very own coloring book. The easiest of all is the candy jar. Just get a bunch of little mason jars, fill with an assortment of candy, and write their names on stickers so they know whose is whose.
